The Technologies of Art and Commerce

This story was a long time in the making but it was really interesting to work on. It was one of those stories where I sort of created it out of seemingly nothing.

I noticed a trend emerging at the intersection of technology, art, and business. I discovered that there are a number of new companies out there making art more accessible and affordable to the public while providing new opportunities of exposure for the artists. Digital technologies are changing the world we live in, the ways we do business, the ways we communicate, and now, the ways we sell and distribute art.

The companies I have written about here all have one thing in common–they make high quality art affordable and within reach of everyone. Galleries can be daunting, or elitist, but these companies take a more broad and level-headed approach.  With all these new technologies changing the game, there’s never been a better time to be an artist.
