Where The English People Work

Posted on

French in Quebec is a heavily regulated language, so if you don’t speak it your employment options are very limited. I discovered this first hand when I came here and needed to find a job after my freelancing work had dried up. But there still is one industry where you can easily find a job even if you can’t parlez-vous: call centers.

I reported on this for the Montreal Gazette in a medium length feature which ran over the weekend. I was very pleased with how this one turned out, and was very happy to write about a human interest topic which I had personal experience with. A refreshing change from reporting on business and medical marijuana all the time! The story is making for a very nice sample in my portfolio.

Read the story on The Montreal Gazette.
