Atlantic Canada is a great place to start a business. It is relatively cheap, and there is a thriving nexus of tech start ups with cunning innovations like Agora Mobile, for example. Headed by Simon Gauvin, Agora is bringing app development to the cloud with a highly visual interface and proposing to do for smart phones what Web 2.0 did for computers. App developers can create and distribute their own apps, even monitize them, and pursue their own entrepreneurial ventures through the social network. It is in beta testing, but Gauvin hopes to have it open to the public for the start of the school year.
